A global community whose focus is brotherhood, friendship, camaraderie and sharing a passion for the culinary arts.


In New Zealand the Chaine des Rotisseurs is led by a local board of six members headed by a Bailli, a French title for head of branch.

David Shackleton, the Bailli for New Zealand has managed hotels all over the world

Helen Meehan, the Bailli for Wellington is an olive farmer from Martinborough

Rowan Moss, Chancelier 

Sebastien Lambert, Conseiller Gastronomique 

John Bishop is a food and travel writer

Nerissa Barber is a lawyer and gourmet.

 

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS 2023

14 - 16 April - weekend in Martinborough:

Friday:

A casual dinner at Union Square in the Martinborough Hotel – a modern New Zealand bistro with French influence.

Saturday:

  • Lunch at Palliser Estate seasonal food and wine
  • Gin tasting at Tohi – a new distillery
  • Degustation dinner at the Barrel Room at Ata Rangi Sunday.

Brunch at the Village Café and Bar in Martinborough– Indian themed


May: Casual dinner at Liberty Restaurant in Wellington

June: Cocktail Party for members and guests – Wellington

July: World of Wine at the Wellington Club with Brett Newell and food to match the wines

September: Degustation Dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel Wellington

October: Ethnic Food – Dinner at No 8 a Vietnamese restaurant in Wellington

November: Degustation Dinner at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School – regalia to be worn

Dinner at the Club de la Chasse et de la Nature and induction evening - Paris

Dinner at the Hotel partiulier de Guenegaud (Club de la Chasse et de la Nature) and induction of new members


With Christmas just a few days away, we thought we'd spare a thought for all those members from Paris and other bailliages who have joined us in recent months and have yet to be inducted.

 

We thought about how we could make this happen. The magnificent Hotel Particulier de Guenegaud in the Marais, headquarters of the Club de la Chasse et de la Nature, was chosen as the venue for the induction ceremony, which will take place on Friday December 6 from 7.00 pm, and for the dinner that will follow.

 

The best of the season and game, along with fine wines, will be on the program for this evening for our new inductees, their spouses and all members of the Bailliage de Paris and Chaine who wish to attend.

 

It will be a great pleasure to share this moment together in such a beautiful setting, and above all to see our new ladies of the Chaine and our new knights with their cords.
